This is a very detailed and colorful map of Kyoto, the former imperial capital of Japan. The main image is a plan of the city while over 50 illustrations in small squares flank the sides of the sheet. The small illustrations have English translations and include the Bridge of Sanjo, Tower of Yasada, and the Post and Telegraph Office. The main plan is highly detailed with individual blocks shown and important buildings and streets named, all in Japanese. Accompanied by the original pictorial envelope. A former owner estimates the map was published between 1911-1915 (end of the Meiji Era).
