This large, historical map depicts the empire of Charles the Great, or Charlemagne. The map is fully engraved with mountains, forests, and cities with ancient place names. Decorative title cartouche with coat of arms and putti, and lovely compass rose. Printed on four sheets, joined.

Condition: B+

Contemporary outline color on lightly toned sheets with a bit of soiling and an abrasion in southern Germany. Professionally backed to repair several tears and fold separations.
