Ortelius based this fine map of the Persian Empire in part on Gastaldi's 1564 map of Asia Minor and on his own 1567 map of Asia. The map is filled with village and city names. Decorative elements include a large strap work title cartouche and a distance scale surmounted by a strange bestiary creature. French text on verso with page number 110.

Condition: A+
A dark impression on a bright sheet with all edges gilt and the small horn coat of arms watermark that is commonly found on Ortelius maps. There is very minor soiling and a paper flaw confined to the blank margins.
