"Regni Hispaniae Post Omnium Editiones Locuplessima Descriptio", Ortelius, Abraham

This is a very attractive map of the Iberian peninsula surrounded by stipple engraved seas, in which there are ships and sea monsters. The land is full of cities, mountains and forests. A large strapwork title cartouche and scale of miles with a divider ornament the map. This is the second state, with German text on verso.

Condition: B+

A nice impression with full contemporary color on a lightly soiled sheet with a crowned "B" watermark. There are a couple of tiny worm holes, archival repairs to a few worm tracks and a small chip in the bottom margin, and a narrow top margin.
