This is a reprint of a Samuel Holland manuscript map of New York, featured in D.T. Valentine's Manual of the Corporation of the City of New-York for 1863. It presents the early street grid pattern of the city and locates important buildings via a legend and bottom including a military hospital, government house, fish market, exchange, and numerous religious meeting places. Holland's map was included as an inset in Thomas Jefferys' The Provinces of New York and New Jersey.
