This decorative double-hemisphere map was updated with the new astronomical observations of Chirikof and Delisle. The map features the Sea of the West and a Northwest Passage in North America, and a conjectural shape for Australia incorporates Tasmania and New Guinea into the mainland. The title and dedication cartouches are tucked between the cusps, and the hemispheres are supported on the shoulders of two men. Panels of French text flank the map (18.8 x 11.0" including text).

References: McGuirk #128.

Condition: B+

There is a short centerfold separation at bottom that has been closed on verso with paper tape. Minor foxing is limited to the text panels flanking the map and a pair of worm tracks are confined to the bottom blank margin.
