This rare map by MacKay & Blake provides more information on the interior than other maps of the day. It shows a large network of wagon roads and provides an early and accurate picture of drainage in the territory. There are a large number of forts including Dallas (Miami), Jupiter, Loyd, Pierce, Kingsbury, Mellon, Cross, and many more. The map shows the panhandle to just beyond Tallahassee. It also locates battlegrounds, as well as the "District assigned to the Seminoles by Gen. Macomb." A note assures that the Indian route across the Everglades is "passable for small boats". There have only been four other sales records for this map in the last 30 years and no institutional holdings located on OCLC.
