This Judicial appointment certificate is signed in ink by President Harry Truman and Attorney General J. Howard McGrath. The certificate appoints Eugene Worley, who was a member of the U.S. Representatives from Texas at the time, to an Associate Judge seat on the United States Court of Customs and Patent Appeals. Worley was later appointed by President Eisenhower to Chief Judge of the United States Court of Customs and Patent Appeals. The certificate was signed 9 March 1950 and includes a gold foil seal of the Department of Justice.

Provenance: from the estate of Eugene Worley, member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Texas's 18th district (1941-50), chief judge of the United States Court of Customs and Patent Appeals (1959-72), and senior judge of the United States Court of Customs and Patent Appeals (1972-74).
