This stunning panoramic view of Tokyo shows the city stretching across the horizon with 62 important buildings noted in the key. Illustrations of a Japanese wedding procession fill the foreground with the bride's carriage approaching from the left and the groom's retinue at right. The view was originally published in Amsterdam in 1669 in Montanus’ chronicle of an early Dutch embassy to Japan. This edition has a French key in the view as well as a Dutch key below. Printed on two joined sheets, as issued.
