This scarce pictorial map was drawn by C.R. Dockum and produced by the Rocky Mountain Bank Note Company. It presents the street-grid pattern of both cities with individual buildings identified along with numerous humorous illustrations including a “Revolutionary” bus making lots of noise, a “Hole in the Wall” at Cordova “Island” Mexico, and a Mariachi band. The large cartouche shows all the flags of Texas with the Lone Star flag in the middle. Top and bottom borders feature vignettes capturing the region’s history from “before the white man came” to “El Paso, the Metropolis.” An apparently scarce item as we found no past sales records and only one institutional example on OCLC (Houston Public Library).
