This miniature map of Crete is divided by regions and shows the site of the Labyrinth at the center. Pierre Duval was Nicolas Sanson's nephew and pupil. He published a wide range of atlases and individual maps including a fine miniature world geography with many of the maps based on Sanson.

A crisp impression on a bright, watermarked sheet with contemporary outline color in the map and later color in the cartouche, with marginal toning and foxing.
