This fine, large-scale map of the British Isles credits its cartography to Thomas Kitchin. It features a large inset of the Shetland and Orkney Islands at top right. The map is filled with details including counties, cities, towns, villages, roads, and topography. A legend below the inset provides an English-French dictionary of geographical terms, and a large table at left shows the political divisions. The title is enclosed in a decorative cartouche with a maritime theme.

A crisp impression with contemporary outline color on a sheet with the watermark of the Maltese cross encircled by rosary beads. There is some minor extraneous creasing at the top of the map.
