In this fascinating book, Susan Schulten tells the story of America in 100 maps. The selection spans from Henricus Martellus Germanus' Ptolemaic world map of 1489/90 ("The World That Columbus Knew") to a 2018 DeepMap data visualization for autonomous vehicles ("The Road Ahead"). Each map is accompanied by a description of its features and historical context. Most of the maps come from the British Library's collection and appear in full color. 272 pages. Hardbound in red cloth with an illustrated dust jacket.
