This decorative copper engraved map features the cities of Avignon and Orange, as well as several smaller villages. The mountains and forests that distinguish the topography of the region are graphically depicted. In addition to the title cartouche, there is a dedication cartouche topped with a coat-of-arms. North is oriented at the bottom of the map. Engraved by Evert Sijmons van Hamersveldt. French text on verso, published in 1633 in either Gerardi Mercatoris et I. Hondii - Atlas... or L'Appendice de l'Atlas.

Condition: A

A crisp impression on a sheet with a measuring dividers watermark. There is minor offsetting and a pair of small wormholes in the bottom blank margin.
