This fanciful view of Mount Teide on the island of Tenerife was originated by Montanus. At 3717 meters above sea level, it is the highest mountain in the Atlantic, and the third largest volcano on earth. It was an important landmark for sailors.
A crisp impression on a sheet with a large Strasbourg Lily watermark, issued folding with a tear at top left and a few tiny worm holes in the bottom margin.
