This attractive map of the Roman Empire covers much of Central Europe from eastern France to Poland and Hungary and into the Gulf of Venice. It includes good detail of the roads, villages, towns, watershed, forests, and more. The top left corner is adorned by a decorative cartouche featuring putti surrounding the emperor. An alternate French title appears above the upper neatline: L'Allemagne, Distinguee en ses Cercles & Subdivisee en ses Etats...
