This is the complete portfolio of maps highlighting the adventures of Corto Maltese, a fictional sea captain conceived by Italian comic book creator Hugo Pratt in 1967. Pratt's comics series starring Corto Maltese were published in a number of different magazines and books over the years, finally becoming the title of a comic magazine that ran from 1983-89. These maps were originally issued as editorial supplements to various issues of Corto Maltese magazine in 1986, and also issued as a set. This is the full original set, housed in the original pictorial printed cardstock slipcase. The maps have the appearance of collages, with smaller maps, stamps, portraits, clippings from books, and images of animals, plants, and buildings assembled together, sometimes overlapping one another. In addition to depicting Corto Maltese's adventures, the maps also highlight famous explorers, adventure writers such as Robert Louis Stevenson, and other famous people and events. Included are:

A. America Septentrionale (25.2 x 26.7").
B. Sudamerica (25.6 x 27.4").
C. Africa (27.8 x 26.3").
D. China (25.3 x 27.4").
E. Hindostan (25.6 x 27.4").
F. Oceanica (27.2 x 25.1").
