This is a handsome map of the historical region north of the Black Sea. It is finely engraved to show mountains, forests and cities and locates historical regions. The strapwork title cartouche includes a small vignette featuring soldiers with their fine horses, for which the region was renowned.

Condition: A
A dark impression with contemporary outline color in the map and later color in the cartouche, on a bright sheet with the watermarks of a large coat of arms and the symbol for the Society of Jesus. There is faint toning along the centerfold and a few soft creases at bottom center.
