Those in search of treasure will find this map useful, as it identifies the potential locations of treasure in the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. The legend identifies the locations of sunken ships, cities where the Spanish stored treasure, and the locations of pirate strongholds. Numerous notations fill the map with details on various ships that sank. According to one note, "The ships of all nations reported lost in the Florida-Caribbean area from 1500 to 1860 total over 1,000." Surrounding the map are vignettes showing the types of items recovered in shipwrecks, methods for recovering sunken treasure, and some of the treasures that are presumed to be found in the seas. Created by Fred W. Logan and Jay Scott Pike from Sarasota, Florida.
