A. Lake Tahoe - "The Lake of the Sky", circa 1935 (14.9 x 8.1"). This promotional brochure touting the Lake Tahoe region features an attractive bird's-eye view of the lake with numerous resorts named and located along its shores. The rugged topography of the region is presented with a three-dimensional quality and text above the map indicates " No Poison Oak – No Rattlesnakes – No Harmful Insects at Lake Tahoe." Adjacent to the view is a smaller map of the entire state. Related text and illustrations on verso. Published by the Lake Tahoe Sierra Association. Self-folding into pictorial wrappers (4.0 x 9.0"). B. Lake Tahoe Sierra Chamber of Commerce Tahoe City, California, circa 1945 (22.4 x 17.3"). This very attractive and detailed bird's-eye view depicts the Lake Tahoe region, extending to Truckee, Reno, and Carson City. It graphically depicts the rugged topography and locates ski areas, golf courses, mountain peaks, and the road network to access these features. Borrowing from the earlier version above, text beneath the title further entices the reader, indicating the region has "no poison oak, no rattlesnakes, no harmful insects."
