A. Plan de Tripoli de Barbarie [on sheet with] Tripoli de Barbarie, by Alain Manesson Mallet, from Description de l'Univers, circa 1683, hand color (4.1 x 5.6"). This sheet includes a handsome plan and view of Tripoli. The bird's-eye plan includes nice detail of fortifications and the city's surroundings and shows several ships in the Mediterranean. Below, the view depicts the city from the vantage of the sea, with impressive architectural detail for a view of its size. French text on verso. Ref: Pastoureau, MANESSON-MALLET 1 A [267]. Condition: A dark impression with marginal soiling and toning.

B. Tripoli di Barbaria, by Gabriel Bodenehr, circa 1700, black & white (10.3 x 4.3"). This striking view depicts Tripoli under Ottoman rule. It shows ships in the port and elegant detail of fortifications and architecture. Descriptive German text appears below the engraved image. Condition: A crisp impression with a dampstain along the left edge of the sheet.

C. La Citta di Tripoli, Capitale del Regno dello Stesso Nome Sulla Costa di Barbaria, nell' Africa, by Giambattista Albrizzi, from Lo Stato Presente di Tutti i Paesi e Popoli del Mondo... Volume XXVI,, published 1766, black & white (6.4 x 4.0"). This attractive view of Tripoli was published in Albrizzi's Italian edition of Thomas Salmon's Modern History. Several ships fill the port, and the walls and towers of the city are nicely rendered. Condition: A nice impression with a tear along the bottom neatline.
