This elegantly engraved map of the historical region of Flanders centers on the Western Scheldt and spans from Ghent north to Middelburg. A key at top left identifies cities, towns, villages, castles, abbeys, water mills, and more. Notable cities are shown in miniature plan form, including Ghent, Dendermonde, Hulst, Bergen op Zoom, and Middelburg. Numerous fortifications are delineated.

A sharp impression in contemporary color with a number of cracks in the green pigment due to oxidation, several of which have been closed on verso with tissue and linen tape. There are two repaired fold separations and chipping in the left and right margins that have been replaced with archival tissue.
