A finely engraved and detailed chart of the Baltic Sea focusing on the coastlines. Includes a large inset "The Harbour of St. Petersburg" showing the narrow, protected approach to the city. Adorned by a decorative compass rose with radiating rhumb lines and an elaborate title cartouche.

Condition: B

A nice impression on a sheet with a fleur-de-lis watermark, and extraneous crease at left, and light soiling. There are two pieces of non-archival tape on verso closing several short edge tears, with one confined to the top blank margin (with some staining showing through on recto) and the other along the centerfold at bottom.
