"Gray's Atlas Map of the United States Showing the Principal Geological Formations", Hitchcock, Charles Henry

This atlas map was drawn by Charles Henry Hitchcock, whose first geological map of the United States was completed in 1872. It presents remarkable geological detail with a color-coded legend identifying six different geological types including Eozoic, Paleozoic, Coal Measures, Mesozoic, Conozoic, and Volcanic.
