This double-page atlas map of the United States depicts seven geological types via hand-coloring including eozoic, paleozoic, carboniferous, mesozoic, ceonozoic, volcanic rocks, and volcanic centers. It is likely based upon the map by Charles Hitchcock and William Blake also first issued in 1872. In addition to geology, the map shows railroads, rivers and numerous place names.
