This superb sea chart centers on the Aegean Sea, showing parts of Greece, Turkey and Crete. Detail is confined to the coastlines, although a pair of lions and camels appears in the interior of Turkey. The title cartouche features a prisoner with his hands bound behind his back, begging his captor for mercy with his wife and children beside him. The distance scale includes merchants from the region. Printed on two joined sheets, as issued.
