A lovely matched pair of maps beautifully engraved in Coronelli's strong and distinctive style. This two-sheet map of all Russia graphically depicts the topography and is filled with vignettes of warring tribes and native scenes. Two magnificent cartouches. Each sheet stands on its own with full borders and a title cartouche.

Vincenzo Coronelli was Italy's most esteemed cartographer and globe-maker. A member of the Franciscan order, he also founded the society Accademia Cosmografica degli Argonauti.
