This ethnographic map of the world identifies the original languages from which 860 derivative languages and 5,000 dialects are known. Lithographed by Bachiller. Attached to the map is a page of text with scientific and historical notes in Spanish. The map and page of text were published in Francisco Jorge Torres Villegas' Cartografia Hispano-Cientifica, o sea los Mapas Espanoles, en que se representa a Espana bajo todas sus Diferentes Fases.
Contemporary color with minor toning that is more pronounced along the edges of the sheet, with some staining and chipping also along the edges.
