This rare uncut globe gore was created as a broadside advertisement for Georg Lowitz' 36-inch globe. The globe was intended to be produced by the prestigious Homann Heirs firm but never came to fruition. The gore shows the region from Baffin Island in the north to the equator in the south, including parts of Quebec, Newfoundland, northeastern United States, the Caribbean, and northern South America. Engraved by Sebastian Dorn of Nuremberg.
