A nice set of three sheets presenting a total of 36 city seals including Le Mans, Orleans, Dijon, Lyon, Grenoble, and Avignon to name a few. Engraved by H. Breviere and printed by Ernest Meyer. Published in Aristide Guilbert's Histoire des Villes de France, a comprehensive history that was issued in six volumes from 1844-48.

Mostly clean and bright. There is some light scattered foxing mostly in the margins of the second sheet, and a couple of chips in the bottom blank margin of the third sheet.
