This finely engraved map by Girolamo Porro shows the island of Corfu off of the northwest coast of Greece. It is adorned with a title cartouche and unique compass rose and set in a full sheet of Italian text (7.8 x 11.8"). Porcacchi's L'Isole piu Famose del Mondo was published in seven editions beginning in 1572, and was one of the last island atlases published, following the works of Buondelmonti, Sonetti and Bordone.
