This is a beautiful map of the city of Hamburg and the surrounding small villages with particular emphasis on the many rivers and canals in the area. An inset map at top right is held aloft by two mermen and shows the mouth of the Elbe River along the North Sea. A legend in the upper left corner identifies over 50 locations. At bottom is a panoramic view of Hamburg surrounded by two allegorical scenes representing the city's importance to trade in the region, including Mercury, Cybele, and merfolk.
