This superb bird's-eye plan of the town of Lille was published in Blaeu's town book of the Netherlands. The center of the town is dominated by a large market place and several towering cathedrals, including Saint-Maurice and Saint-Etienne, one of the largest Jesuit churches in France. A numbered key within the title cartouche identifies six other locations on the plan. The city's coat of arms appears at top right, mirrored by the arms of the Dutch Republic at left. Dutch text on verso.
