"Accurata Prussiae Descriptio", Wit, Frederick de
Period: 1690 (circa)
Color: Hand Color
19.2 x 14.6 inches
48.8 x 37.1 cm
A handsome map depicting present-day Poland and Lithuania. It is fully engraved with rivers, lakes, forests and mountains and is filled with place names. While the map bears the imprint of Gerard Mercator at lower right, this version of the map has been updated by Frederick de Wit with a new title and decorative cartouche.
A dark impression with scattered foxing, faint offsetting, and a centerfold separation at bottom that just enters the image that has been closed on verso with old paper.
