"Le Royaume d'Ecosse Divise en Shires ou Comtes", Robert de Vaugondy, Gilles

This handsome map of Scotland delineates the counties and shows countless place names, harbors, islands, rivers, mountains, shoals, bays and firths. At lower left is a beautifully engraved rococo cartouche. This is the second state with Flannan Isle moved west of the Western Isles and the addition of St. Kilda, published circa 1768.

Condition: B+

A nice impression and contemporary outline color with later color in the cartouche, on paper with a medallion watermark. There is minor toning, some soiling and creasing along the centerfold, and some short edge tears confined to blank margins.
