A. Moscovia, by Hondius/Purchas, published 1625 (6.8 x 5.2"). Handsome map of western Russia with Moscow (Moscowia) depicted at bottom right and Novgorod (Nouogardia) at top left. Fully engraved to show forests, rivers, lakes and cities and adorned with decorative title and scale cartouches. On a sheet of English text measuring 7.9 x 12.3". At the beginning of the 17th century, Samuel Purchas, an English cleric, set out to publish a compendium of voyages to foreign countries. To illustrate his work, Purchase obtained the rights to use Jodocus Hondius' copperplates from Atlas Minor. Over 60 maps were included in Purchas His Pilgrimes, most of which were from Hondius' plates, with English titles inserted above them. Condition: A nice impression with dampstains confined to the blank margins and descriptive text below the map. There is an extraneous horizontal fold below the map image. (B+)

B. Russie Blanche ou Moscovie, by Jacques Peeters, circa 1692 (5.9 x 5.1"). This handsome small map covers European Russia with part of Finland showing the political divisions. The Volga River flows in the lower right corner of the map. Nicely engraved with mountains, forests and topography with major cities located. Condition: A nice impression with two small edge tears at top closed on verso with hinge tape. (A)

C. Moscovia or Russia. Divided Into Its General Parts &c., by Herman Moll, circa 1710 (7.1 x 6.5"). A handsome, small map of Russia that extends from the Caspian Sea to the Arctic Ocean. Filled with forests, pictorial topography, and towns and cities represented by tiny buildings. Condition: A nice impression with short centerfold separations confined to the blank margins that have been closed on verso with hinge tape. (A)
