A. Carte des Environs de la Ville de Mexico pour l'Histoire Gene. des Voyages, (6.4 x 7.9"). This handsome and well-engraved sheet shows the lake and Mexico City with eight bridges extending from the shore. There is good detail of the area with many villages located. An aqueduct system feeds Lac de Zun Pango to the north of the city. The map is adorned with a compass rose capped with fleur-de-lys, oriented with north towards the bottom of the map.
B. Carte du Mexique pour l'Histoire Generale des Voyages, (11.5 x 8.3"). This attractive map of central Mexico reaches from Durango in the north to the Isthmus of Tehuantepec in the south. Mexico City is located on the shores of a large lake. A decorative title cartouche graces the map.
Both maps are nice impressions issued folding on watermarked paper with minor offsetting.
