A. Carte de la Baye de Hudson, pour Servir a l'Histoire Generale des Voyages, published in La Harpe's Histoire Generale des Voyages, dated 1757, hand color (12.0 x 8.8"). Handsome example of this chart of the Hudson Bay and Labrador, depicting the mountains and coastal features and including numerous forts. There is a note in French in the far northwest corner of the map explaining that the English had searched for a Northwest Passage in that region, but it did not exist. Embellished with a decorative title cartouche. References: Kershaw #461; Protinaro & Knirsch, p. 242; Sellers & Van Ee #304. Condition: A sharp impression on a clean, bright sheet of watermarked paper with light toning along the edges of the sheet (A).

B. Karte von dem Ende der Hudsons-Bay Welche die Englander James Bay Nennen, published in Allegmeine Historie der Reisen zu Wasser und zu Lande, dated 1744, black & white (5.6 x 7.6"). A German edition of Bellin's map of James Bay, extending north to above Cape Henriette Marie. Numerous rivers flow into the bay, anchorages are noted n the south, it names Ft. Rupert, Fort d'Albani, F. S. Anne and more. Dated 1744, but published in 1756 by Arkstee & Merkus. Reference: Kershaw #426. Condition: A crisp impression with light toning. (B+)

C. Carta della Baja di Hudson, published in Teatro della Guerra Marittima e Terrestre... circa 1781, black & white (11.9 x 8.6"). This is an Italian edition of the first map in this lot. Reference: Kershaw #465. Condition: A crisp impression, issued folding with a few spots of foxing. (B+)
