"Bird's-Eye View of the City of New York", Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper

An attractive view of New York City stretching from Lower Manhattan to Central Park. Brooklyn is depicted at lower right and New Jersey can be seen in the background. The view is precisely engraved to show individual buildings and numerous boats in the two rivers. Further decorated by panoramic views of New York harbor above and below the main image along with a decorative border. Published in the November 26, 1853 issue of Illustrated News.

Issued folding with light toning and some mild extraneous creasing. There is a small split at the center fold junction and a separation in the right border that has been closed on verso with archival tape. A very good example considering the thin paper and size of view.
