This handsome folio sheet is composed of an elaborate tree showing the heroes and heroines of Germany, with dozens of coat of arms and family crests. The tree structure emanates from a large golden tankard adorned by several royal and Catholic crowns and the black, double-headed eagle seen on many German and Austrian crests. It is a stunning composition that is filled with symbolism. Extensive key in French text boxes to either side of the composition.
