This fine early copperplate engraving of Hispaniola is based on Gastaldi's 1548 map of the island. It is rendered in the characteristic Italian style with a stipple-engraved sea and bold border. Latin text on verso describes the island.

Condition: A

On watermarked paper with a bit of faint toning at left and a few minor archival repairs confined to the blank margins.
