This is the first facsimile edition of the Bradford map of New York City, with only 3 original examples known. Writing about this copy, noted collector and owner of one of the original Bradford maps, William Loring Andrews noted: “This is apparently the first copy made of the original Map and it is the most accurate and the most carefully executed. A copy of this facsimile was made by order of the Corporation of the City of New York, to accompany a report on the Great Pier of the Committee on Docks in 1835.” The map is accompanied by the original 93 page Report of the Committee on Wharves... that also includes the Plan And Location Of Great Pier For The North River…Surveyed November 1836 By Edwd. Ewen (33.7 x 3.8"). No copies of this version of the Bradford facsimile appear in auction records.
