This is a reduced version of an important view of Louisburg that was originally drawn by Charles Ince, engraved by Pierre Charles Canot, and published in Scenographia Americana in 1768. The view is taken from above the lighthouse with supplies and a cannon being transported down to the harbor, which is filled with ships. The town of Louisbourg is shown at center with the coastline in the background.
