A strongly engraved map of Cape Breton Island and eastern Canada that includes topography and coastal place names. War broke out between France and England in 1744, and a large number of maps were produced to describe the areas involved. This is from a German edition of Charlevoix's Histoire et description générale de la Nouvelle France.
