This brief document is the first official communication of the successful completion of the first telegraph line by Samuel Morse. This experimental line linked the Capitol Building to the railroad station on Pratt Street in Baltimore - a distance of 40 miles. Shortly thereafter, telegraph lines sprang up and down the Atlantic coast and even connected the European and American continents prior to Morse's death. 3 pages, disbound.
