Very handsome map of the famous Spice Islands of present-day Indonesia. The map is oriented with north to the right by a compass rose. The large pictorial cartouche illustrates the Portuguese expedition of Diego Lopez de Sequeira of 1509 and shows an erupting volcano in the background - a common sight in the area.

A dark impression, issued folding with light toning and soiling along the bottom edge of the sheet. Narrow left margin.
