This map of the ancient world is divided into seven climatic zones. The Asian continent is severely truncated and there is no Japan. The map is nicely composed in a semi-circular projection with a title cartouche at left and a portrait of Strabo at right. At top is a wonderful vignette of the mythological wind god Aiolos whose mountain prison constrained the Winds.
A crisp impression with minor toning along the edges of the sheet.
