An interesting sheet with a bird's-eye plan of the city of Lima, Peru at top and a view of the great silver mine of Potosi (Bolivia) at bottom, copied from Arnoldus Montanus' view. Potosi was Spain's proudest possession in the New World with the flow of treasure reaching immense proportions and fueling the European imagination for continued exploration.

Excellent impression on watermarked paper with a tiny hole in the view of Potosi and a few faint spots of foxing.
