This handsome title page from a German edition presents the title within an architectural framework crowned with the royal arms of Louis XIII. The motto Duo Protegit Unus ("One protects two") looms above the portico and refers to the one sword of the king protecting the two crowns of France and Navarre. The title and publisher's imprint are printed on separate pieces of paper that are adhered to the engraving, as was the common practice of the period. Published in Amsterdam.

Contemporary color with gilt highlights. There is moderate soiling, a couple extraneous creases at top left, and a couple tears at bottom right, the longest of which enters 4" into image.
