A. Celestial Charts - Antique Maps of the Heavens, by Carole Stott, (9.3 x 12.0"). This reference contains superb illustrations of maps by Cellarius, Hondius, Van Keulen, Allard, and many others. It follows the visual history of constellations from the pioneering astronomers to the 88 internationally recognized constellations of today. Informative and lively text explains how mythological characters are represented alongside symbols of science and technology. 128 pages with more than 60 full color illustrations. Hardbound in dark blue buckram with dust jacket.

B. The Mapping of the Heavens, by Peter Whitfield, (10.6 x 11.6"). Throughout history, efforts to map the heavens have often resulted in very beautiful images. More than eighty of some of the most beautiful and interesting celestial charts ever made are reproduced here in full color to reveal some of the ways in which the underlying structure of the universe has been conceived and explained. Published in association with the British Library. 134 pp., hardbound in blue cloth with a dust jacket.
